Eeek, so how excited am I to start at Randolph!?
We had our orientation yesterday; the first couple hours, we listened to the artistic director "lecture" on policy, how the school started, what our classes are about, and all that other jazz. And then a bunch of students in the higher years came to "scare" us, by telling us of how intense the programme is - how they cried every day for a week, how you have no life outside of this whatsoever, and even how one girl threw up her first day! ...Great, what have I got myself into? Oh wait, there was the part where they said at their latest statistic was that 88% of Randolph graduates are working in the Entertainment field now :)
So we apparently have the biggest first-year class they've ever had. They usually accept about 50 students, we have 57. It was so fun meeting everybody, I mean how awesome is it to be in a school taking musical theatre, where everyone else likes musical theatre? I made tons of new friends, many of who like Rent, and Wicked and Kristin and Idina (and all that other fabulous-ness), and many who will love them after I convert them :) (they will learn to love Stephanie as well)
After the guy lectured, we got our pictures taken for our student cards, and then we had ballet and jazz evaluations. They have seven different levels of each dance discipline at the academy, but we were only tested in ballet and jazz yesterday because those are the only ones we take in first year (tap and everything else come later). I had to sit out for most of the dance evaluations, which kind of sucked, because it was like, how are they going to place me in the proper classes and levels and stuff when I'm half crippled? :( ...But I did what I could, and they were really nice about my injury. I got placed in level 4 and 5 I think (out of 7) for ballet and jazz. I'm glad, that's where I figured I'd be.
After that, we had a music theory test so we could be placed in theory levels, there are only three levels for theory. The guy who administered the test was so cool, he's going to be one of our professors, and he is also a conductor on effing BROADWAY. *le faint* So how excited am I? ...I ended up getting placed in level 3 of theory, and if I pass this semester with at least a 70, I'm exempted out of theory for the rest of the programme, Woot!
So I can't remember my exact schedule, but these are (some of) my classes, from September to December:
Ballet Jazz Improv Repertoire Movement (for Actors) Scene Study Theory Randolph Chorale (choir with the entire school! All 132 of us) Womens' Choir (both these choirs will be mainly musical theatre repertoire) Theatre History Musical Theatre History Musical Theatre Project Private Voice
I don't *think* I've left any out! Ack, there's so much, but I'm so anxious just to start!
And now we are into Friday, and IT'S MY LAST DAY OF WORK!!!!! Woo! ...Only 8 and a half more hours to go, lol. At some point I'm leaving for like an hour though, because I have to go get x-rays on my foot :( ...Oooh, maybe I'll get crutches or something, =S. I'm so excited for tonight though; Craig is picking me up here and taking me out! He hasn't said where we're going yet, but he said to "dress fancy". *mini squee*
So this'll probably be one of my last big updates, as I'm apparently going to have no life, starting next Tuesday. LOVE TO ALL! :) - Mood:anxious
 - Music:"I'd Rather Leave While I'm in Love" Boy from Oz

I'm so glad that everything worked out at Randolph, paticularly the dancing.
